Tarrant has 13 years of consulting experience; specialising in mining strategy selection and providing solutions to unique and/or complex mine planning problems. This is supported by a PhD in mine optimisation. He has been involved in over 200 studies in Australia, South America, North America, Africa, Europe, and Asia; across precious metals, base metals, industrial minerals and iron ore, and for both open pit and underground mining methods. As Global Manager of Snowden, Tarrant is responsible for the strategy and operations of the Snowden business. Tarrant is passionate about improvement and strategy; to find a better way to do things. His particular strengths are a focus on the global system, and ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple way to a range of stakeholders.

Regional Manager – Africa
Bill is a geologist with 35 years’ experience in diamond exploration and mining, including 32 years with Anglo American and De Beers and eight years as head of De Beers global exploration activities. Bill was directly involved in the discovery and development of four new diamond mines in southern Africa and participated in a number of kimberlite resource sampling and evaluation projects and mine feasibility studies in Africa, North and South America, Europe and Australia.
Bill served as a director of De Beers Consolidated Mines Limited from 2002 to 2006 and as Chairman and/or director of a number of other De Beers Group and associate companies during his career. Since retiring from De Beers in 2006, Bill pursued personal interests before commencing private diamond industry consulting work in early 2009. Bill joined Snowden in September 2009 and since then has directed a number of independent technical reviews and Competent Persons’ Reports for a number of diamond and other commodity projects.
Consulting Manager Software
Gary has over 23 years’ experience in the software industry, having worked in a number of domains including accounting, medical, mining and public transport. Having a solid technical background, Gary has been involved in the development of numerous software systems and over 10 years mining industry experience. He has also been involved in all stages of the software development lifecycle, including business analysis and requirements capture. Gary has filled several leadership roles and has supplemented his experience by completing a MBA. Gary leads the Reconcilor consulting team globally for Snowden; ensuring quality is maintained at the highest standard. He has played a key role in the requirements analysis and project management of a number of Reconcilor projects since commencing with Snowden in early 2009.
Technical Product Manager
Phill is a technology professional with experience in the analysis, architecture, and development of software products and bespoke systems. Phill’s experience has included technology consulting in mine reconciliation, leading development efforts in mine scheduling and other domains, solution architecture, analysis and product management. Phill currently has technical product management responsibilities for products with capabilities in data integration, analytics, machine learning and business intelligence.
Software Development Manager
Jeremy is a software development manager with over 20 years of software and database development experience. Jeremy has worked in a wide range of industries helping clients to develop systems that improve the management and speed of business processes, capture data more accurately, and provide a level of analytics to help their businesses expand.
The projects Jeremy has worked on have allowed him to take on team lead, client management, and advisory roles for clients such as BHP Billiton Iron Ore, Qantas and the Catholic Education Office.
Allan is a mining engineer with over 35 years’ experience in underground mine design, planning and operations in Australia and Africa. During this time he has held senior technical and management positions. Since joining Snowden in 1996, he has consulted on a large number of mining projects in several countries. His areas of expertise include mining feasibility studies at all levels, underground mine planning and design, reserve estimation, mine operations management and project management. He has a strong capability in strategic planning and optimisation of underground orebodies.
Matt is Executive Consultant at the Snowden Group, a global mining consulting company.
Matt has +35 years experience in most major commodities, across the value chain, and in many countries. He built on a solid background in gold and platinum with stints on the South African Gold Mines, in rock engineering research, as an analyst on the JSE, and in running his own consulting company, to a 16 year career with BHP, and latterly back to independent consulting.

Matt has led or participated in numerous acquisition and divestment studies, across gold, PGM’s, base metals, and bulk minerals.
Matt is a Competent Person/Competent Valuator in most major commodities and has worked on projects and operations throughout the globe.
Michael is a geologist with over 30 years of technical and operational experience in the mining industry working in roles in exploration and mining throughout Australia and overseas. Prior to joining Evolution Mining, he spent 11 years with major mining consultancies. Before entering consultancy, Michael spent 10 years with Newmont Australia and five years with BHP Steel. Michael has specific experience in geostatistical resource estimation, optimisation of resources, grade control and risk assessment, technical audits, due diligence studies and mine valuation
studies, technical training and mentoring. Michael has had substantial and varied exposure to iron ore, gold and precious metals, base metals, copper, uranium, and industrial mineral resources both within Australia and around the world.
Michael has significant exposure to gold deposits within Australia and overseas. He has worked on all of Evolution’s assets within Australia and Canada. This also includes working on all the Australian assets of Normandy/Newmont over a 10-year period as well as Yanacocha and Minas Conga in Peru. Michael has also undertaken work for Polymetal in Russia on the Albazino and Tamunier resources, as well as undertaking
training and modelling for at the Kupol mine for Kinross.
Michael has worked on shear and vein hosted, epithermal, placer, IOCG and porphyry style deposits. As well as Papua New Guinea, Russia, Australia and Peru, Michael has also worked on gold projects in Colombia, Indonesia, India, Canada, USA, Ghana, Turkey, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Democratic Republic of Congo, Malaysia, Mali, Chile, and South Africa.

As an experienced Geological Consultant with a demonstrated history of working in exploration and the mining industry (mainly coal) Ian has provided detailed consulting services to numerous projects around the globe from early stage Generation and Project Definition to Feasibility Studies and Operations. Focused on risk assessment and evaluation of resource characteristics with regard to the mining and processing disciplines, Ian is a key member of the evaluation team. He also brings strong data management, project management and modelling skills, and has assessed the resource risks, opportunities and ranking of numerous operations and projects through the completion of due diligence studies, technical reviews and high-level financial valuation.

Philip has accumulated over 30 years’ professional experience in the mining, consulting, financial services and investor relations sectors, including a long association with the WA resources industry. Philip possesses strong capital market and corporate communication skills through his direct involvement in numerous asset, market and corporate transactions.
Associate Executive Consultant
Phil Morriss has over 46 years of experience in open pit mining, including: 25 years of large open pit precious and base metals operations with Rio, BHP Billiton and Placer Dome in a range of technical and managerial roles in Australia, Papua New Guinea, South America and Africa; four years as General Manager then CEO of an International Mining Contractor operating in Ghana and Tanzania in Africa; and 17 years as an international mining and geotechnical consultant, and a specialist in-pit crushing expert.
Phil has a strong technical background which has included the publication of many papers on probabilistic rock slope stability, final pit wall blasting, trolley assisted truck haulage, contractor vs owner mining, and in-pit crushing and conveying (IPCC). He has also run workshops on pit slope stability (with Evert Hoek), managing mining contracts, understanding risk in mining, and IPCC. As a consultant, Phil managed the global mining division activities for the Snowden Group and expanded its international operations.

Rayleen is a mining geologist with over 20 years’ experience in the resource industry. Rayleen has been involved with onsite implementation and administration of Reconcilor for the past 14 years and has significant expertise in mine site reconciliation.

Anthony is a geologist with a strong technical background in resource estimation and mine operations (open pit and underground), developed since 2010. While working with Gold Fields Ltd, Anthony was strongly involved with corporate technical innovation and business improvement projects including mine to mill reconciliation and optimisation. His experiences, which range from international secondment to private conference with industry leaders, has given Anthony a broad exposure to the mining industry.

Kristy Marshall is a Marketing Strategy + Social Media specialist, graduating with a Double Bachelor Degree in International Business and Communications. With experience in marketing for Education + Technology companies in Sydney, Kristy has led the evolution + optimisation of several international marketing teams, with a focus on innovation and customer satisfaction. With her roles comprising high-level marketing strategy as well as implementation, her achievements include growing her departments revenue 10-fold over a period of 18 months, building a team of 12 employees in the same period across two countries, to the rollout of a Salesforce instance, and organising 600+ person, 8 stream conferences with international delegates. Mike is a Principal Consultant with over 30 years of software development experience in the mining industry, having previously worked at WMC Resources in various roles.
Since joining Snowden in 2000, Mike has worked on several projects including the development, implementation and support of geological database management systems, resource and reserve database systems and various other applications. His areas of expertise include SQL server development, .NET application development, PowerApps development and acQuire geological database management.
Matthew is a mining engineer with over 20 years mining industry experience. Over this time he has been engaged in numerous projects at all study levels for a wide variety of commodities. These projects involved:
- pit, stockpile and dump optimisation and practical designs including backfill and in-pit tailings options;
- cut-off grade optimisation including blended products;
- tactical and strategic scheduling to balance combinations of maximising net present value, equipment and grade/ore type blends;
- equipment selection and productivity studies including haul optimisation;
- contract mining evaluations; and
- cost estimations.
Chris has worked in the mining industry since graduating in 2006. Following his initial training with Rio Tinto Iron Ore in Australia, Chris moved to Snowden Consulting, initially in Australia then in South Africa gaining international mining experience of diverse projects including; Project management and completion of Scoping, Pre-Feasibility and Bankable Feasibility Studies, Independent Technical Reviews and Due Diligence studies for various ore deposits and providing on-site mine planning and mentoring to engineers at underground and open pit operations.
Chris then joined Discovery Metals in Botswana as a Senior Engineer implementing various projects including; Surpac mine planning software and training of Botswanan engineers, full site reporting systems, blast design reviews and the start-up of a new open pit.
Frank is a mining engineer with more than 25 years surface mining industry experience, with the last ten years in a consulting role. He has a strong analytical skill base with real-time mining data collection systems and mine optimisation, design, cost modelling and scheduling software.
His consulting expertise includes project financial analyses, Competent person sign-offs. His consulting work includes project management for iron ore, gold, bauxite and nickel laterite mining studies at the scoping, feasibility and prefeasibility level, Ore Reserve audits and specialised technical reports (NI 43-101, Chapter 18).
Matthew Jarvis is a Principal Consultant with Snowden, based in Johannesburg.
He is a mining engineer who headed up the Treasury and Corporate Finance function under the restructured South African Energy Coal business for South32. In addition to establishing the Treasury function, he was responsible for managing ongoing market and credit risk activities associated with commodity trading and other commercial activities, as well as leading the Business Evaluation team in Johannesburg. This team oversaw investment analysis and the review of major regional projects, business planning outcomes, commercial opportunities and overall regional portfolio management across Southern Africa.
Jan is a diligent and proficient Resource Geologist with 14 years’ experience working in the mining industry and has excellent technical skills. Through her work as a consultant at Mining Plus, Snowden Group, Right Solutions and Datamine, Jan has gained experience in a variety of commodities and deposits, using different mining software (Datamine, Supervisor, and Vulcan). Jan has ability to work both
independently and as part of a team. Jan has experience in training (internal and external), mining software, designing grade control
systems, geological modelling, macro writing, technical report writing, auditing, technical reviews and resource estimation including advanced estimation techniques. Jan has written technical reports to JORC 2012 and NI 43-101 standard.
Jan manages her time well, communicates clearly and has experience of working to deadlines. Jan considers her key strengths to be in communication, resource geology, computer software skills, and training/mentoring.
Associate Principal Consultant
Doug is a Mining Engineer by training. He started his career at Teutonic Bore underground copper/zinc sublevel open stope mine in Western Australia in 1980 as a longhole production driller. Doug has worked in many facets of the mining industry since then, including drill & blast crew, shotfirer, shiftboss, mine planning engineer, mining production manager, processing production manager, fixed &
mobile equipment maintenance manager, supply chain manager & study manager across a number of commodities including iron ore, aggregates, coal, copper, gold & manganese mines.
He extended his experience into mining equipment supply and services on a global basis, including head of Trans4mine (customer applications optimization fitting the mine plan to the equipment including in-pit crushing & conveying assessments in surface mining and automated equipment assessments in underground mining) & Vice President of Mining Systems Products. This background has provided a strong global network together with an understanding of what works and what does not.
Jennifer is an experienced Senior Consultant with a demonstrated history of working in the mining & metals industry. Skilled SQL, Databases, IoT solutions, BI reporting, Data Warehousing, .NET Framework, and Visual Studio. She is a strong consulting professional with a Certificate IV focused in Project Management Practice from PM Partners. Deon is a solution architect with more than 15 years’ experience in business & system analysis in the stolen vehicle recovery, laboratory services and mining industries. Deon was involved with and managed several information system implementation projects throughout the system development life cycle (SDLC). His experience includes liaising with stakeholders in facilitating workshops and conducting client demonstrations. He completed a Bachelor of Commerce as well as a Honours degree in Informatics at the University of Pretoria, both with top academic achievement awards. Having studied communication management as an elective, Deon uses his skills to optimize small group communication during workshops and manage intercultural communication differences. Deon has travelled South Africa, the African continent, India and Australia extensively on consulting assignments and is fluent in English and Afrikaans.

Michael has over a decades’ worth of software development experience spanning across various industries including: defence, payroll, courtroom, marine and geospatial.
He has been a key contributor to many commercial product features which have met and at times exceeded customer expectations. Technical versatility is one of his greatest strengths as he is a capable polyglot and able to deliver software solutions without the underlying choice of technological stack being an impediment. Tuyet had been working with projects related to univariate and multivariate conditional simulation, uniform conditioning and global change of support. Tuyet has also been involving with the developing of Snowden Supervisor software by providing code for model validation, global change of support, Local Kriging Neigbourhood Optimisation, Sequential Gaussian and Sequential Indicator Simulation and Kriging Neigbourhood Analysis.

Wei has broad experience in IT industry. Since joining Snowden Technologies, he has been working on Snowden’s geostatistics software.
Senior Test Analyst
Latha is a Certified Test Professional with over 15 years’ experience in IT. Proficient in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and all phases of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) from test planning to defect tracking and managing defect lifecycle. Latha is also experienced in designing Test Plans, Test Scenarios, Test Scripts and Test Procedures. Latha has worked on web and client / server application testing, ERP implementation (Oracle Retail, Microsoft Dynamics) and post go live testing.
Ian has over 15 years’ experience delivering IT and software development projects across a Wide range of Industries including Government,Mining,Public Transport, Visualisation and Insurance. He has a solid technical background across a wide range of software languages and has been involved in all stages of the software development lifecycle. Since joining Snowden Technologies, Ian has worked on several projects including the development and support of Reconcilor and Regulator products.
Lisa has over 12 years experience in the software industry working with diverse technologies. She has a strong technical background and is familiar with a number of development tools and methodologies. She has expertise in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, focusing predominantly on requirements analysis and quality assurance. Lisa has acquired a variety of technical skills, including a number of different databases and development frameworks. Currently, Lisa has a software consultant role in Reconcilor and Regulator project teams at Snowden.
Since graduating in 2004 from Murdoch University, Lukmaan has been working as a Software Developer for many companies in Perth. He has development experience varying from solo projects to largest software house in Western Australia.
Since joining Snowden in 2018, he has been an important member of the Reconciler upgrade project.
Having previously worked in finance and fleet management, Nathan joined Snowden in early 2020 as a newcomer to the industry. His enjoyment of breaking down complex problems into simple algorithms and affinity for back-end development saw him fit nicely into the Reconcilor development team, where he spends most of his time working with the number-crunching calculation services. Despite only a few years of commercial development involvement, Nathan carries over a decade’s worth of server-side development and team coordination experience from working on various niche projects in his own time as a hobby programmer.

Shannon is an experienced Client Relationship Manager focusing on training and software at Snowden. Skilled in Administration, Management, Project Management, Database Administration, and Event Planning. Strong sales professional with a Graduate Diploma in Education from Murdoch University.
Operations Support Manager
Jodeane leads the Operations Support team with many years’ experience across a diverse range of support functions, ensuring operational efficiency.
Prior to joining Snowden in 2011, she gained experience in both the financial and accounting sectors working for ABSA Bank and PKF Auditors and Accountants in various roles including Sub-Branch Management, HR advisor and Payroll Administrator.

Caitlyn is a Marketing Coordinator working at Snowden since graduating with a Communications degree from ECU in 2006. She is responsible for supporting the growth of the company through building brand awareness and effective marketing of Snowden’s products and services.
Operations Support Specialist
Michelle has 14 years administration experience in the mining industry. Responsibilities include travel management and project management support.
Odette started working at Snowden in 2003. She qualified as an Accountant in 2009. She is responsible for the day-to-day running of the office and look after the accounting side of the business.
